This
antique paneled room was lovingly removed from St. Giles, home of Iren'ee
du Pont and later Walter S. Carpenter near Wilmington Delaware (circa 1898).
These beautiful specimens of 19th century architecture all in quarter sawn
oak include:
- The room at 27' x 17' x 12' 2" high with heavy oak panels,
- Ten open face book cases and enclosed cabinets below,
- Two oval top doors,
- Fireplace surround with mantel,
- Massive crown molding encompassing the periphery of the room,
- Three story staircase with wall paneling,
- Front entrance door with side lights, and
- Freestanding arch with oak keystone and two
heavy 8 ft pocket doors all with fluted trim.
This room will make a great conference
room, restaurant or dining room setting,
lobby, or library!
